Hindsight
by N. Velonis
Shouts from
down the hall -
Echo off the wall -
My heels drag the floor -
Had to tell a lie -
Now you wave goodbye -
You've got somewhere to go
Make me feel so small -
Damn you look so tall -
As you walk out that door -
Halfway down the drive -
Feelin' so alive -
Just lookin' down the road
And I heard the sirens call
Medusa says to move along
I never thought to hold on
When I should have laughed -
At random things of past -
All I could do was moan -
Never knew the cost -
Never felt so lost -
Since you went out to roam
Could have held you back -
But I have the knack -
To keep you far from home -
Should have known to cry -
Should have known to try - But now I fall alone
And I heard, I heard the sirens call
And
Medusa says, she says to move along
I never thought to hold on
But now I fall alone
